A PhD program in American Studies offered by the University of East Anglia offers students the opportunity to conduct research in an effort to complete a PhD or PhD via publications. Driven by a desire to enhance understanding of human cultures and communities, historic and literary transformations, and the questions of power and identity that arise from such, Research groups focus on American Histories, Literatures, and American Studies, with the program noted for its strengths on the time period of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. An interdisciplinary approach with a close working relationship an academic supervisor allows for independent research and academic guidance.
