Description: The Society for the History of Women in the Americas (SHAW) invites proposals for its upcoming 2025-26 seminar series, showcasing innovative research on the histories of women, gender, and sexuality across the Americas. We encourage submissions that explore diverse, intersectional, and interdisciplinary approaches to historical analysis and storytelling.
About the Seminar Series
The SHAW series is held in collaboration with the Institute of Historical Research during the academic term time. All seminars are online and usually take place each month on Tuesdays 6-7pm.
The series offers a forum for speakers to present research investigating histories of women, gender, and sexuality from a hemispheric perspective that stretches from Canada to Argentina, Mexico to the Caribbean. The convenors aim to offer a series in which new and cutting-edge ideas can be shared and discussed in an intellectual and supportive environment.
